Track Details

King Roc a.k.a Martin Dawson, began producing 10 years ago as part of dance act 'Sentience with Tom Neville and Nick Sentience. Hes built an impressive catalogue of high profile remixes and solo productions, for Kingsize, Azuli, Bugged Out, Playtime, i0 Music and London Records. In the past twelve months alone, highlights have included collaborations with Marc Almond (Soft Cell), a remix of New Order's legendary 'True Faith', as well as embarking on a series of worldwide King Roc DJ tours. His remix of the classic S-Express track 'Theme from S-Express' has been a massive underground hit and is soon to get a full release. Theres much more to come from this talented South Londoner. For Welcome To Zion you should forget all preconceptions you have of the King Roc sound. Welcome To Zion is slow captivating, melodic deep house with a truly soulful, hypnotic chord progression and heart warming lead melody that is neatly knitted together with subtle production flashes. Sebo K creates his own distinctive melody line and chord sequence that cleverly draw on early Detroit techno whilst still delicately retaining the un-missable lilt of Martins original. Warm and heavy drum sounds and careful use of some old school strings push this firmly onto the discerning peak time dance floor.
