Traum was founded in 1998 by Jacqueline Klein/Anima and DJ & producer Triple R (a.k.a. Riley Reinhold). It was initiated by a trip to Buenos Aires, which set off the label with TRAUM CD1 'Elektronische Musik aus Buenos Aires', which became one of the top 10 in THE WIRE charts of 1998 and was the kickstart to what today stands at nearly 200 records plus 17 cd`s by international artists from all around the world.

The perspective was to feature like-minded music, music which focused on an aspect of techno which would not depend on a club night dynamic but much more on the musical side of techno. The label has changed over the years, no longer releasing ambient electronic music but rather focusing on the club side of the label.

In 2003 a new generation of artists from Cologne like Adam Kroll, Process, M.i.a and Oliver Hacke emerged and Traum started working more closely on the development of the music itself, doing co and post production, and generally working more closely on the whole production side.

With the discovery of the German artist Dominik Eulberg and his international hit: 'Die Rotbauchunken vom Tegernsee' the label has made a big effort to establish intself as one of the top techno labels in Germany, since then releasing a groundbreaking album by Domininik Eulberg and amazing tracks by Nathan Fake, Minilogue, Jesse Somfay, Robag Wruhme/Toby Neuman Remixes of 'Dinamo' and Thomas Brinkmann’s Tour De Traum Album.

Storming the charts in Germany with several releases per month the Traum Schallplatten organisation has made it to the top in Groove and Debug magazines in Germany with artists Dominik Eulberg, Nathan Fake, Steve Barnes also receiving acclaim by the English press in DJ magazine and from the BBC, with a recent feature on Traum on BBC Radio 1.

A bestseller and the heart of TRAUM is the compilation 'Elektronische Musik – Interkontinental' which reflects the forthcoming releases and the new artists, which is a part of Traum philosophy to continually work with new talents.

Every Interkontinental LP comes with the artwork of Jacqueline Klein and the video (on the CD) by Yvette Klein, who is the link to the multimedia aspect of TRAUM, setting up her installations and visuals at Traum events.

During the past six years TRAUM has become the mothership to four more labels: Trapez, Trapez Ltd, My Best Friend and My Best Friend Ltd.

In 2000 TRAPEZ was founded as a DJ tool for the night clubs.

It translates more easily than TRAUM,being more direct.

TRAPEZ LTD is an open format for underground dance culture and highlights new artists as well as hosting internationally renowned musicians.

MBF the youngest label from the TRAUM company and focuses on modern house and draws strong influences from the House scene.
