R & S Records relaunches after many years in the wilderness. The letters R & S represent the initials of Renaat Vandepapeliere & Sabine Maes, the couple that created this label back in the early 90's.

Arguably one of electronic music's best known record labels, R&S released recordings from Aphex Twin, Derrick May, Joey Beltram, 69 (Carl Craig), and Model 500 amongst many others, defining a whole era of dance music.

Founder Renaat Vandepapeliere explains the return: "I put the label on hold a few years ago because everything had got so stale. Now electronic music feels vibrant and exciting again and the digital sphere has given independent labels so many interesting new opportunities to explore. The time has come for R&S to rise again."

Label manager James Ingle comments: "The label’s history speaks for itself – R&S set a benchmark for modern electronic music and the opportunity to continue this rich tradition is very exciting. We’re all thrilled to be involved with R&S again, working to discover and nurture a new generation of exceptional artists and producers.”
