Oyster Music was formed in late 1999 by Chris Cooke and Adrian Fitt in order to provide a home for a small group of artists who they had met and become friends with during many years working within the industry.

Drawn together by their collective love of ‘Soul Music’ the aim of the label was to record and help promote ‘UK Soul’ (‘Soul’ in the widest possible terms). Jazz, Gospel, R&B or House…just as long at it was Soulful!

Their biggest success to date is undoubtedly the Shaun Escoffery classic ‘Days like This’ which during 2002/2003 reached No 1 in nearly all the major Club Charts around the world.

In addition to Shaun Escoffery, during the past 5 years contributing artist have also included: Omar, Geoffrey Williams, Nick Clow (AKA Blood) and Drizabone.

The consistent quality of their releases has put ‘Oyster’ amongst the best independent labels in the UK.
