MBF is a German house imprint founded by Riley Reinhold (aka DJ Triple R) in January of 2004. Riley, who has been DJing since 1984, has always introduced a fair deal of house into his techno sets and so decided it was time for a house sublabel for his excellent Traum Schallplatten imprint.
The label started with local Cologne artists such as Gabriel Ananda and Graziano. The style of the label was developed later, when Riley recorded together with Jorge Gebauhr, ex. Traum artist of Argentinian origin when they collaborated on the first Toro single.
The project was instantly picked up by famous House DJs in Germany, among them, Atta of Playhouse, Tiefschwarz, Mandy and others. The second big artist on the label, is the British artist Steve Barnes, who recorded 'Cosmic Sandwich' which was a huge tune for MBF , was licensed to Danny Howells' Miami Global Underground compilation and was played worldwide by Djs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, etc. Steve followed this with the excellent 'Man In The Box' and MBF expects to release an album from Steve Barnes very soon.
Another big hit came from Break 3000 (one half of the Dirt Crew) who recorded 'Flash'. An afterhour hit for many Djs, the record put him firmly on the map after the excellent Paris EP he recorded earlier on MBF with Adam Kroll.
The A&R work by Riley Reinhold focuses on stripped down funky and deep house and so he has signed top artists such as M.A.N.D.Y. (Get Physical) and The Dirt Crew along the way.
