'In Manchester in the 60s there was the Twisted Wheel, in the 70s the Electric Ballroom, in the 80s there was The Hacienda and the 90s was Bugged Out!' Tony Wilson.

Bugged Out! began as a weekly Friday nighter at Sankeys Soap in Manchester in November 1994. Mixing DJ's with live acts the first year saw the likes of the Chemical Brothers, LFO, Dave Clarke, Daft Punk and Derrick Carter among the guests all playing under the banner 'viva acid house!'.

When the night moved to Nation in Liverpool in 1998 the musical remit widened to encompass three rooms and on a good night you could hear everyone from Dave Clarke and DJ Sneak to Badly Drawn Boy and Gilles Peterson across the club. Since 2002 Bugged Out has resided at The End in London with resident Erol Alkan and memorable appearances from Miss Kittin, Vitalic, Mylo, Tiga, Ivan Smagghe, JoJo De Freq and The Glimmers.

Bugged Out also has a residency at The Loft in Barcelona often programming up to four rooms with talent across the leftfield musical spectrum from minimal techno like Ricardo Villalobos to like electronic guitar bands like Clor.

The night has visited clubs across the UK and abroad and hosted and programmed arenas at festivals including Snowbombing in Austria and France, Creamfields in the UK and Argentina, Skolbeats in Brazil, Planet Roxy in Czechoslovakia and Dance Valley in Holland.

Bugged Out have won two Muzik awards, Best UK club in The Face and the Dancestar award for best international club.

In 2000 Bugged Out recordings was launched to reflect the sound of the club and also a series of compilations: Bugged Out with Felix Da Housecat and Justin Robertson (2000 Virgin) Viva Bugged Out by Jon Carter (2002 Virgin) A Bugged Out Mix by Felix Da Housecat (2003 React) Suck My Deck by Ivan Smagghe (2004 React) A Bugged Out Mix by Erol Alkan (2005 Resist) and Suck My Deck by Damian Lazarus (June 2005 Resist).
